PJI diagnosis using PET-CT uptake analysis to differentiate between physiologic, aseptic or infectious conditions: a literature review
Ertürk Hasan, 2025
Joint arthroplasty, especially hip and knee replacement, is among the most commonly performed surgical procedures worldwide and affects many people. Whether you have a prosthesis yourself or know someone who does, it is something that many individuals experience in life in one way or another.
As prosthetic joint infection is not uncommon, this complication is also frequently encountered. PJI can have serious consequences on people’s lives in the form of prolonged hospital stays, mobility issues, increased healthcare costs, and even permanent disability. This study aimed to contribute to this issue and hopefully prevent complications following joint arthroplasty in the future.
